What I am Loving Right Now

Since I want this blog to be a sort of journal that I can look back on, I have decided to list the absolutely wonderful things that I am loving about our life right now!  So, here I go…

1.  I love the way Grace says Mama.  Sometimes it is very matter of fact, other times she just wants me to pick her up – so she holds up her arms and says “mama, MAMA, Ma-Ma”  Other times it is really sweet and loving.  I just love it when she says mama!

2.  Every night, Kelly rocks Grace to get her ready for bed.  Usually they are watching Jim Cramer on Mad Money or some other crazy show Kelly has chosen.  I am usually working on the computer.  But, I always take Grace to bed.  And she lays her head on my shoulder, and snuggles up to me and it is the best!

3.  I love being able to be home and spend so much time with Grace.

4.  I love that it is almost fall, and I am so ready for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas…can’t wait!

5.  I love how excited Grace gets when she sees Beau – she can barely contain herself and she says in the most loving little voice “Beau, Beau”

6.  I love the way Grace loves her dolls – she hugs them, and gives them kisses, so sweet.

7.  I love when Grace blows kisses

8.  I love our nightly walks.  Kelly, Grace, and I take walks around the neighborhood in the evening.  We get to talk, and enjoy the evening and Grace gets to check the neighborhood out.

9.  I love my business and the opportunity to learn so much and create a business doing things that I love to do.

10.  I love my house

11. I love how much Grace likes books and when she brings them to me and sits in my lap so I can read to her.

This kind of feels like one of those Facebook notes, but I want to be able to look back and remember all of these things! Plus sometimes, you just need to stop and be grateful for all that you love in your life!

Grace has a new Cousin

Auntie Erin and Uncle Mark welcomed beautiful baby Cora Elizabeth to the world on Thursday.  She was 7 lbs 10 oz and absolutely beautiful.  Momma and baby are doing great!  I can’t wait to meet her in person!  I know Grace and Cora are going to have so much fun growing up together :)

Wow, haven’t updated in a while!

So, it has been a while since I have posted on my blog!  We have been so busy!  I have been working really hard to build my VA business and my Tupperware business.  It has kept me on the run!  Speaking of on the run, Grace is walking all over the place now!  It didn’t take her long to go from 1 step to practically running.  She expecially likes to walk laps around Grandma Debbie’s house!  I think I have lost 5 pounds just trying to keep up with her LOL.

We also visited the zoo a few weekends ago.  The Sacramento Zoo was having a Zoo Tweet Up – for all the people on twitter (which yes, I am addicted too) and tickets were 1/2 off.  So we took Grace and she had a great time.  She was pointing to all of the animals and getting very excited!  She loved the Giraffes and monkeys the best!

Our Little Pilot

Last weekend we went to an air show at Kelly’s airport.  It was really neat – I love to watch the planes do the crazy flips and stuff.  We got pictures of grace in some of the airplanes.  she had fun too checking it all out.  and we got to see where Daddy’s works!  so that was neat!

I will be uploading and send the pictures soon…

Why I can never use cloth diapers

OK, those of you grossed out by poop…probably won’t read this one!  Now I am one of those people grossed out by poop – I hate bathroom humor, it is just gross.  But, now that I have Grace – there is a lot more poop!  Not to mention, worrying if she did poop, or is constipated.  Anyway…

A few nights ago, while Kelly was away on his fishing trip, Grace was taking her bath.  She starts acting like she is going to poop.  So, I take her out quickly and rush to get a diaper on her.  Well, I was no quick enough and she pooped in her towel!!!!!  SO gross!  I had to empty the “contents” into the toilet!  And I gagged while doing it!  I just can’t handle that!  I like to quickly get rid of the diaper while not breathing!  I could never use cloth diapers – if I had to empty them on a regular basis!  No!  Just though I would share this special little story with you guys!!  Have a good Memorial Day!

New Opportunity

Hey!

So, I have decided to start selling Tupperware!  It is my first time doing direct sales.  I really like the company and the products!  I have already come up with tons of ways to use the products in my own kitchen!  Tupperware offers many solutions for storage, saving money, and living green.  I am really excited!  Plus, I think it will be fun to meet some new people.  (and some extra money never hurts these days)

Anyway… my website is www.my.tupperware.com/devonzimny

You can order products directly from the website – or host an online party (and get some free stuff)!

I just wanted to share my new opportunity with everyone :)

Trip to the East Coast, Part 3…

My last post about our trip…

We spent a lot of time with Julie and Jeff and Lila.  Meeting Lila was so great!  She has the cutest smile and calmest personality.  Grace loved her ( and even said her name pretty well).  Lila is girly like her Mama and relaxed like her Dad.  Julie and Jeff are amazing parents (not like that was ever a question).  I really wished we lived close – because we all get along so well.  And with little ones, we were all on the same schedule.  One of the harder things to adjust to is not having the time to spend with friends.

Best Friends Already

It was a neat expereince for me also, to see the babies different personalities.  Grace is really her own little person – I knew this of course.  But having really only spent time with her, you kind of forget that not every baby is the same.  Seeing the similarities and differences between Grace and Lila was really cool. I can’t wait to see Lila again and watch the girls grow up!! grace-lila-2

I have to also add how wonderful Kelly was on the trip!  We had a great time as a family and I had time to spend with my friends too!

Trip to East Coast, Part 2…

julie-sunshine-meSo, the reason for the trip was Sunshine’s wedding.  I am so happy for her!  Jake makes her so happy and the wedding was beautiful.  I love weddings!  She was relaxed and calm and sure.  I loved the ceremony – the quotes were beautiful.  It was wonderful.  Seeing Julie and Sunshine and Elaine is always the best!  It makes me really miss living close by to them.  We were able to spend more time with Joe, Elaine’s husband.  He is great and it was nice to get to know him better.  We had a great time at the wedding – dancing and laughing and a few jello shots thrown in there (for good measure).  I just love seeing my girls!julie-me-elaine

We have also decided we are making a commitment to get together every 2 years – so I am counting down until the next trip!

Our trip to the East Coast, Part 1

familyLast week, Kelly, Grace & I made the trek to the east coast for Sunshine’s wedding.  I was worried about the flight.  Grace is so mobile these days, I had no idea what to expect.  But, it went pretty well.  The plane was full, so there wasn’t much room.  She napped, and ate, and got fussy occasionally.  But overall – the flight was not as bad as imagined!  We stayed in Savannah, Ga for Wednesday.  We were able to see some of Savannah and have lunch.  Then we drove on to Charleston.

Thursday night was the rehearsal for the wedding.  The rehearsal dinner was really nice – great food (thanks Jake!)  Sidenote – Sunshine’s new husband is a wonderful cook!  He made the BEST mango salsa ever!!  Grace even went to sleep in her all-terrain stroller!

Friday morning we had breakfast and went to the beach.  Grace absolutely loved the ocean!  She was so excited by the water and waves.  I think one of the best parts of motherhood is watching your children experience new adventures!  Watching Grace’s reaction to the ocean, makes the ocean that much more amazing to me.  On Saturday we put her in her super cute bathing suit and actually took her in the water.  She laughed and squealed!  She was not scared for 1 second.  It was awesome!  I love the beach!  Really, could Grace look cuter in her suit?  I don’t think so!grace-beach-1grace-beach-2

We spent a little more time in Savannah Saturday night.  And learned that horses scare Grace.  Kelly took her over to see one of those horses that pull a carriage, and she was totally scared.

Overall, I was so proud of Grace the whole trip and had so much fun watching her experience new things.

More to come…

Great visit with Grandpa John

This past weekend, Grandpa John (my Dad) visited from Santa Fe!  We all had such a great time!  The weather was beautiful!  We enjoyed great food and were able to visit lots!  As usual, Grace was the center of attention – just how she prefers it :)  It only took about 2 seconds before she was crawling all over her Grandpa and throwing her arms up at him!  I am always amazed by her ability to be so open and loving!  She has been getting braver – she is letting go and standing all by herself!  She hasn’t gotten quite brave enough to take a step – but she is close!  It is always fun to have family visit!

1 year check-up

Grace had her 1 year check-up today, and she is healthy!  She weighs 19 lbs 5 oz.  But she had to have 3 shots, which I hate!  She was pushing the nurse away and crying!  I hate watching her go through that (she was of course fine pretty soon after).  I decided to delay the MMR until she is a little older.  The whole debate over immunizations is so hard for a parent.  There seems to be no definitive evidence that the MMR is connected to autism, but there is enough to make you question it.  And I feel like either way, immunization or not, I could harm my baby.  I guess it is part of the mommyhood territory.  In some ways, life as a parent was so much easier before the internet and all the information!  Anyway, I am so grateful she is healthy and happy!
