Why I can never use cloth diapers

OK, those of you grossed out by poop…probably won’t read this one!  Now I am one of those people grossed out by poop – I hate bathroom humor, it is just gross.  But, now that I have Grace – there is a lot more poop!  Not to mention, worrying if she did poop, or is constipated.  Anyway…

A few nights ago, while Kelly was away on his fishing trip, Grace was taking her bath.  She starts acting like she is going to poop.  So, I take her out quickly and rush to get a diaper on her.  Well, I was no quick enough and she pooped in her towel!!!!!  SO gross!  I had to empty the “contents” into the toilet!  And I gagged while doing it!  I just can’t handle that!  I like to quickly get rid of the diaper while not breathing!  I could never use cloth diapers – if I had to empty them on a regular basis!  No!  Just though I would share this special little story with you guys!!  Have a good Memorial Day!

New Opportunity

Hey!

So, I have decided to start selling Tupperware!  It is my first time doing direct sales.  I really like the company and the products!  I have already come up with tons of ways to use the products in my own kitchen!  Tupperware offers many solutions for storage, saving money, and living green.  I am really excited!  Plus, I think it will be fun to meet some new people.  (and some extra money never hurts these days)

Anyway… my website is www.my.tupperware.com/devonzimny

You can order products directly from the website – or host an online party (and get some free stuff)!

I just wanted to share my new opportunity with everyone :)

Trip to the East Coast, Part 3…

My last post about our trip…

We spent a lot of time with Julie and Jeff and Lila.  Meeting Lila was so great!  She has the cutest smile and calmest personality.  Grace loved her ( and even said her name pretty well).  Lila is girly like her Mama and relaxed like her Dad.  Julie and Jeff are amazing parents (not like that was ever a question).  I really wished we lived close – because we all get along so well.  And with little ones, we were all on the same schedule.  One of the harder things to adjust to is not having the time to spend with friends.

Best Friends Already

It was a neat expereince for me also, to see the babies different personalities.  Grace is really her own little person – I knew this of course.  But having really only spent time with her, you kind of forget that not every baby is the same.  Seeing the similarities and differences between Grace and Lila was really cool. I can’t wait to see Lila again and watch the girls grow up!! grace-lila-2

I have to also add how wonderful Kelly was on the trip!  We had a great time as a family and I had time to spend with my friends too!

Trip to East Coast, Part 2…

julie-sunshine-meSo, the reason for the trip was Sunshine’s wedding.  I am so happy for her!  Jake makes her so happy and the wedding was beautiful.  I love weddings!  She was relaxed and calm and sure.  I loved the ceremony – the quotes were beautiful.  It was wonderful.  Seeing Julie and Sunshine and Elaine is always the best!  It makes me really miss living close by to them.  We were able to spend more time with Joe, Elaine’s husband.  He is great and it was nice to get to know him better.  We had a great time at the wedding – dancing and laughing and a few jello shots thrown in there (for good measure).  I just love seeing my girls!julie-me-elaine

We have also decided we are making a commitment to get together every 2 years – so I am counting down until the next trip!

Our trip to the East Coast, Part 1

familyLast week, Kelly, Grace & I made the trek to the east coast for Sunshine’s wedding.  I was worried about the flight.  Grace is so mobile these days, I had no idea what to expect.  But, it went pretty well.  The plane was full, so there wasn’t much room.  She napped, and ate, and got fussy occasionally.  But overall – the flight was not as bad as imagined!  We stayed in Savannah, Ga for Wednesday.  We were able to see some of Savannah and have lunch.  Then we drove on to Charleston.

Thursday night was the rehearsal for the wedding.  The rehearsal dinner was really nice – great food (thanks Jake!)  Sidenote – Sunshine’s new husband is a wonderful cook!  He made the BEST mango salsa ever!!  Grace even went to sleep in her all-terrain stroller!

Friday morning we had breakfast and went to the beach.  Grace absolutely loved the ocean!  She was so excited by the water and waves.  I think one of the best parts of motherhood is watching your children experience new adventures!  Watching Grace’s reaction to the ocean, makes the ocean that much more amazing to me.  On Saturday we put her in her super cute bathing suit and actually took her in the water.  She laughed and squealed!  She was not scared for 1 second.  It was awesome!  I love the beach!  Really, could Grace look cuter in her suit?  I don’t think so!grace-beach-1grace-beach-2

We spent a little more time in Savannah Saturday night.  And learned that horses scare Grace.  Kelly took her over to see one of those horses that pull a carriage, and she was totally scared.

Overall, I was so proud of Grace the whole trip and had so much fun watching her experience new things.

More to come…
